Concrete Reflections offers beautiful commercial and industrial concrete polishing with a cream finish. The cream finish concrete – also know as sand finish concrete – is the lightest finish we offer leaving a beautiful “cream” finish with very little visible aggregate.
Cream finish concrete is a Class A category meaning it has the lowest amount of aggregate exposure. The concrete surface is cleaned and polished with no grinding. This process typically only exposes the sand particles in the concrete floor while creating a flat, smooth surface. Because grinding is not used, sand finish concrete floors showcase the character of the floor more than any other finish. This process reveals imperfections including trowel marks, low spots and different colors that are unique to each floor. Cream finish concrete can only be installed on new concrete floors, not renovations.

How Can Builders Prepare for a Cream Finish Concrete?
If the slab has not yet been poured and polishing to a cream finish is desired, speak to the concrete contractor to request the following.
- Trowel the surface as if it were a commercial warehouse or garage floor
- Leave a dense cream while eliminating ridges
- Don’t trowel so much that it leaves black marks on the surface
- Protect the surface during construction to prevent chips
Concrete Finish Options
Concrete is a combination of cement and aggregate materials. Aggregates are typically harder than cement to improve wear, and the job location determines the type used varying from granite to limestone. The Concrete Polishing Council classifies aggregate exposure from A to D, and the amount of exposed aggregate increases as letters change.

- Class C: Medium Aggregate
- Class D: Large Aggregate
